Howdy from Malibu

Just wanted to say the top is off the Jeep, the sun is kinda out, and it is 72 degrees outside. Thinking of all of you and hoping you get a nice day this week. Going to lay low today and get settled into the area. Tomorrow is the full blown LA/Hollywood/Beverly Hills tour. Plus I am taking the Jeep up the Pacific Coast Highway with the top down before i head back to Phoenix Thursday. I will put up pictures once I get back to Michigan.

Gotta say I like it out here. I never knew the desert was so beautiful and I am seeing it in the winter when its dead. I think I found a place that has worse cops then Ohio though, seriously. California cops are nuts. And the hills around LA are crazy, the houses on them are fucking unreal!!!!! Never knew it was so hilly around here, but it is totally all hills. Might go do the man vs Food challenge while I am here, something about a super spicey bowl of Ramen at some little dive. Oh, and California medicinal is the cats ASS!!!!!

I will definetly say that Phoenix is the front runner for my relocation before winter 2010/2011. But I am suppose to check out Savannah soon, and I still have to spend a weekend in Nashville. Might check out Miami before then too. But Phoenix has friends and family there, so it might be tough to beat it. I am actually doing a pros and cons sheet on each one, and once October 2010 comes around I will have to make a decision.

Anyway, have fun in Michigan.....I dont miss it a bit yet

Q, Savannah is nice, but humid as hell during the summer. As it's not that far away, come a little further south and check out Jacksonville and St. Augustine. One thing about Florida vs Georgia is that we have no state income tax.

Miami is the arm pit of Florida. If the Sunshine State has a Detroit in it, it's Miami. The only thing it has going for it is Key Largo and South Beach. I'd suggest heading up the coast to Ft Lauderdale or Pompano Beach. I still really like Clearwater, St. Pete, Tampa, etc. Maybe Bradenton or Sarasota would do you good. I know Ft Myers has cheap property after the hurricanes a few years ago.

Keep in mind that any coastal town in the Southeast will have extremely high homeowners insurance rates. One more reason to like Lakeland.

You know it snows in Nashville, right? Heck, if you're going to check out Nashville, check out St. Louis and Denver too. Another area to look at is Charlotte. Not too hot because of the mountains. Atlanta too.

Check out the real estate costs out there in Cali and get back to us...

I just got back from there less than 2 weeks ago. It is a cool area that's for sure.

Nashville isnt that nice First time i was there i was quite shocked on how Dirty it was and expensive.

Tom I have no intentions of buying anything. I will be happy to live in a condo rental for the rest of my life honestly. Homeowership is over rated. That said, I have a friend in Jacksonville too.....who knows what life holds, i just know i have one more big move in me, and i want it to stick this time.
