| What is Michigan Speed? |
| The simple answer to the above question is that we are a performance based car club located in the state of Michigan. But that doesn't even touch who we really are as a club. We see ours selves as the best and newest car club encompassing all makes and models within the state of Michigan. Started in the early summer of 2002, by a close knit group of friends, we symbolize what a car club should be. Good friends, good times and great cars. We help each other, work on each others cars, and provide a collective intelligence about all makes and models. With each new member our knowledge of cars and how they work grows. We have turbo cars, Nitrous cars, and naturally aspirated cars. Some like to drag race, some prefer road racing, and then there are those who like to show. We try to cover all those bases and more. With numerous car shows, and race events every year, we believe we have something for everyone. We are a participating volunteer with the Make A Wish Foundation, as well we work with Toys 4 Tots and their annual race event. Car clubs aren't just about enjoying the cars, but enjoying the area you live in, and giving something back to the area. That is one of the things we try to do as well. We have no requirement on type of vehicle to be a member either. Ford, Chevy, Dodge, or Import all are welcome. The general premise is to take your choice of vehicle to a higher level then stock, or at least learn new ways to enjoy it from the start. We encourage all different model owners to join us. If it's fast, shiny, or even if it only wants to be, then it belongs in Michigan Speed. Together we can learn more about our cars, how our cars work, and how to enjoy them. |
| What does it cost to be a member? |
| Nothing, we believe you have already spent enough money to have and enjoy the car you have. We do have a Supporting Member level that will get you more privledges on the site, that costs 25.00 per year. You can also support the club thru the use of the club store and the purchase of a T-shirt or decal. Basic club membership is free. You are however *REQUIRED* to attach a small MichiganSpeed.com decal to you car somewhere visible from the outside of the vehicle. Decals are available thru the club store |
| What type of cars are allowed to become members? |
| We accept ANY make or model of vehicle, cars, trucks, bike, or boats. All models accepted, whatever you have. If you enjoy it, we will as well. |
| What are the age requirements for membership? |
| Due to the nature of our sport and our events, we require all members to be at least 18 years old. You will be asked to wait a mandatory 30 day period to verify your a active member and not just padding the member roster. You are also *REQUIRED* to attach a small MichiganSpeed.com decal to you car somewhere visible from the outside of the vehicle. Decals are available thru the club store |
| Do I have to live in a certain area to be a member? |
| No, we welcome anyone from the state of Michigan. |
| Do I have to attend meetings? |
| Actually yes and no. We require all members to attend at least one event per year. With as many events in all areas of the state that we offer this is not asking too much. We want to meet you and have a chance for you to meet us. One event a year allows for this. You pick which one you would like to attend. Events are posted in the site calendar. |
