Ok, for those that don't know. Hot Boat Weekend aka Hardy Party is always the Thursday thru Sunday after Labor Day. The big party day is of course....Saturday.
We camp at Oxbow State Park in Newaygo which is directly across the water from Consumer's Cove(if you've been to Hanky Panky on Spring Lake, multiply fun factor by 4).
Here's the address: Ox Bow Park
2973 Cottonwood
Newaygo, MI 49337
Ph: (231)856-4279
General information about the campground:
Ox Bow Park is located on the east side of the Hardy Dam backwaters. There are 17 miles of waterway from Hardy Dam to Rogers Dam for recreational waterskiing, swimming, fishing or boating. This is a great area for camping, hiking and a brilliant view of the fall colors with the blue waters and the white sandy beaches. We are located about 25 minutes from Newaygo, Big Rapids and Fremont, and about 45 minutes north of Grand Rapids. We have 197 campsites, one cabin, docks. a dumping station (for waste water), two playgrounds, three service buildings (toilets & showers), three out johns (vault toilets), a swim beach, pavilion, horse shoe pits, grills, volleyball court, 1/2 basketball court, very nice flat boat launch and more. So come check us out whether its for the day, weekend or month.
There are quite a few Park Rules that are pretty shitty, but here are the more important ones for Visitors coming to Party at Hardy ;)
Only one camping unit per site. Only one vehicle FREE per site. extra vehicles are $5 per day (8am-11pm)
and $5 per night (11pm-8am).
All visitors must leave the park by 11 p.m
Quiet time is from 11 p.m. till 7 a.m. Radios and TV's must be kept to a minimum.(this rule is relaxed a little for this particular weekend)
so as you can see, working out plans for transportation is a must. they do have overflow parking but it is very limited.
So if you want to come, get your shit together and start communicating with whomever you're coming with because it's a weekend full of Boat, Beer, and :boobies:
