View Full Version : Broke down and bought another one
Had a 1989 205 Sundowner come in at work that fell off the trailer. Cosmetic damage at best. Boat is in GREAT shape, looks to have been stored inside its whole life, vinyl is perfect, nice trailer, nice gel coat, the whole nine yards.
Needs a stereo, it is totally missing, and a Bikini top, otherwise I will be on the water in two weeks, and Hot Boat and Coast Guard are guaranteed this year. Now Chopsaw and I have a boat, plus Brad and Scuba have theirs and Todd has his Cigarette. Hot Boat might be stupid fun this year.

Awesome news. Got any pics? A before and after would be cool.
I will drag it home tomorrow and begin the repairs. The repair shouldnt be hard at all really, just a weekend of drying time. Steve at Star lent me a DA for the sanding....just doing it now.
Anyone have a spare anchor or some lines or even some bumpers. I have everything else, but those I lost with my old boat.

When is hot boat this year? Are we doing gauges again?lol
Hot boat is the first weekend after Labor Day. And funny you should mention that, probably, but not this year. Maybe in the spring. But the plates would be almost the same, kinda funny.
Alright, got some exterior pictures for you guys. These are large for my purposes, so deal with it when they load.
The boat is in fantastic shape inside too, once I get into it and start adding the stereo next week I will update the photos. But other than the slight gel coat damage the thing is solid. I have already laid the first layer of sealer epoxy, and now I am waiting on the first layer of gel coat to cure. Tomorrow after work I will sand that one out and probably have to lay down a second coat. But that should be the final one, then it is just a wet sand and polish away from being seaworthy.
Oh and for those that don't want to see it, the photo labeled YUMMY is some naughty photos of a girl that seems to like using me for sex. In honor of Patrick

I've got a pair of brand new 15" subs if you are looking for any.
Yep, exactly Dave. The strap hook is all bent up too. They had to winch it back up and it drug it along the launch. The fix really isnt that bad, it just sucks laying on a creeper under it and sanding it in this heat. I itch SO bad!
Brett, tell me what you got. They arent on the top of the list, but sooner or later I will get to that portion of the fixing

305 motor Q? Don't forget me for hot boat tool. If I ever get all the sand and water someone dumped in my gas tank out I will be there with the Renken. 3 weekends of screwing with that thing and it still won't run.
That is a clean boat Q. I can't believe our employer would even screw with a boat that old.
They made at least triple their money Scott, thats why. And it is a 350 too

Nice, that's a heavy boat but it should still move good with that motor. Mine is the 4.3 omc and it GPSd at 55
I dont care if it tops out at 20 mph....as long as it floats, lets me get on the water and to the parties, and provides me with a location to pass out from the sun and beer. :booze:

Maybe I will get an invite to hang out on this boat, since I never got one for the other boat:irate:
get your ass over here Eric. I suggest the weekend after Labor day. Hot Boat weekend will be fantastic this year. Should have at least 3 boats together and the boxing ring again.

Oh shit! you still have the boxing ring!? Q, we should get together to talk the logistics of this Hot Boat trip this year.
we have the possibility of having 7 boats in our group this year!! Me&Scuba, Dan, Todd, Bryan&Amy, Tim&Amy, Mark&Candice, and yourself. Add our friends coming with and we're looking at atleast 20 people between 7 boats. I don't want to jinx it, but this really could be epic this year!
