it's been a couple weeks, I've made no real effort, therefore there is no progress.

I'm still sitting at 175. 15lbs more than desired. I'll post up results in a week and see how much of an impact 1 week has on my plan.

anyone else?

This past weekend I competed in my first triathlon. My goal time was to do better than 2 hours 30 minutes. I ended up finishing in 2:08!!!!! :woot: I think that I'm hooked. I'm signed up for the Millennium Park Tri and I may do the one out at Reeds Lake in September.

Okay, I've been almost 20 days without drinking pop or energy drinks. I've been drinking tons of water and flavored water(zero sugar). This alone I've lost about 4lbs. I'm also starting to eat more at home and not so much "out" unless it's subway/jimmy johns

I guess it's time to stop fooling myself and start doing some sit-ups and push-ups. Don't even suggest the "R" word to me. At least not yet.

I've been a solid month with no pop or energy drinks. I'm eating better for the most part, doing sit-ups and push-ups almost everyday. going to hit a gym with a friend tomorrow morning. might turn in to a weekend routine. Going to start running(which I'm not looking forward to) to prepare for a 5K october 24th.

i'm down about 5lbs. nothing huge, but it's just a start. I began at 176.5 and am down to just over 171.

1st run was Friday. 1.6 miles up and down hills. One big hill that is on the north end of ball by Knapp street. 1st time was 17 minutes with two stops(to walk)

Just finished my 2nd run. Same route. Only one stop coming back up the big hill. 2nd time was 14:30.

i went to the gym yesterday and set a baseline for my major muscle groups and now have a focus area..or 2...or 3 :D

Good job so far. It takes consistency more than anything. Over the last 2 months I have been biking 5 days a week. The loop started out at 4.67mi and I did it in 32 minutes. I'm now making the loop twice (9.35mi) and I'm doing it in 50-52 minutes. I spent $40 and put one of those electric speedos/computers on the bike. Really makes you push yourself because you try and compare times, distances, and such. I didn't start doing this for weight though, I'm perfectly happy at 5' 10" and 165lbs. I'm doing it to build up my lungs and stamina. I feel 10x better and have more engery after nearly 10 miles on a bike than I did 2 months ago not riding.

Nice Tom! I just want to lose my "padding" that slowly got me to 175. I'm about 5'9" and want to stay between 160-165 as well.
