I am only in maintain mode. There are just too many things to do and not enough time to enjoy it all. My main activity now is scuba diving and while it does incorporate weight lifting, heavy breathing (cardio) is frowned upon. We haven't gotten into a good bike riding routine yet. Lately it's been too damn hot and the humidity really messes with my allergies. We did paddle down the river last Sunday though. I guess that's just more resistance training which will help the help the arms though.

wtf? 9lbs is a huge fluctuation in a day. Even for water weight.
I'll play. I'm at 172 as of 30 seconds before this post. That's 12lbs heavier than I was last summer.
So that's my first goal...back down to 160 so I look descent for Hot Boat Weekend :)
same thing I thought. But same scale, same enviroment. Checked this morning, back to 258 after a 12 pack last night :)
I am staying within 5 lbs or so of my goal weight. I am typically around 125 or so and bounce around btwn 120 and 130. I am not unhappy where I am, but I would like to eat better. Those damn oreos!!!

I'll play as well.
I started training for a triathlon kind of on a whim. When I started back in March, I weighed 248, which was the most I've ever weighed. Earlier this week, I weighed 221. So far this year, I've swam 18,000 yards, biked almost 340 miles and ran 75 miles. My first triathlon is in 3 weeks.
Kevin, I am jealous. Always wanted to do one of those.
Can you tell me the distances that you are training for please?

The one on July 18 is the Tri Del Sol, put on by Gazelle Sports down at Camp Manitou-lin. It consists of a 1/2 mile swim, 18 mile bike and a 4.5 mile run.
The second one is at Millennium Park, and that one is a 500 meter swim, 14.8 mile bike and a 3.1 mile run.
I'm not worried about the Millennium Park one, as I have those distances covered. I still cannot run close to 4.5 miles w/o walking though, so I'm a little nervous about that one. I will finish, just don't know in what time. I am, however, looking forward to doing them.

Not really a whole lot to tell. I've been using a website that has some pretty good training tracking software, but the main thing I've been doing is just trying to swim, bike and run at least 2 times each per week. The key is to slowly build up and put in the time. The speed and distances will come.
When I started running, I couldn't run constant for more than 2 minutes. So, I would do a 1 minute run then a 1 minute walk. Eventually, kept moving the running times up. Now, I can pretty much run for 4 miles non stop, which would be about 40-45 minutes for me. I've been biking for 2+ years, so the distances came quickly. Swimming is just a whole nother animal.
For the diet, I still eat too much fast food, but I'm trying to make them healthy choices and drink more water than coffee or pop. Also, using a calorie counter, like My Daily Plate through Live Strong.com has helped in the weight loss. Let me see if I can post some of my training log here.
Oh, Brad #1 - I think I got that signature in an e-mail and it pretty much summed up my earlier years in life. :jiggy:

Even if you do have a thicker muscular build, with some cardio and some sit-ups, you could lose the gut and look like a 250lb tank!
