I was reading information on supplements and ran across Cytomel, which I had heard of but didn't know anything about.

In the description it talked about how many people trying to lose large amounts of weight will plateau. They say it's the body's reaction to the decreased caloric intake, causing the thyroid to basically hybernate.

They said the cheat meal (or cytomel if you so choose) wakes the thyroid back up and can help you break through that plateau. It didn't say to have a whole cheat day, but a meal once every few days is supposed to be beneficial.

Take it for what it's worth, as I didn't research it any further than what I ran across on that site...

but for those stuck, maybe it will help? I know I cheat every now and then, but only one meal or so every few days. Not because I read it (just came across that the other day) but because I don't want to get bored and crave everything I have been missing out on.

Thats why I have always kept saturdays as a free day. Eat whatever you want, as much as you want, whenever you want. But only on Saturday.

Interesting. I know over the last several months it's been interesting and frustrating to look at my calorie intake versus my exercise routines versus my weight. There has got to be something behind the whole eat meat and no carbs thing because the night I pigged out on a Porterhouse the scale was very kind the next day. But I still can't find a real correlation that is consistent. Maybe this weekend I'll have time to go through and analyze all my numbers. The one thing that does stick in my mind is having to hit a certain calorie intake a day. Otherwise your body starves and then what you do eat is converted to fat. I am probably on the bottom line of that intake requirement and I wonder if upping it a bit would help.

breakfast, lunch, or dinner...I basically decide when the day starts.:) I think the horrid meal is motivational. Self-discipline would be keeping the "bad meal" small. :)
