I finally made it a point to hunt down some protein to make up some shakes and add some good calories to my diet. I ended up going to GNC where the choices were overwhelming and so were the prices. But, I came out with some their Pro Performance Whey Protein Complex. I doesn't contain as much protein per serving as some of the others, but it doesn't have as many calories either (17g protein and 100 calories). They were having a buy 1 ($18.99) get 1 half price which worked out well because I couldn't decide between vanilla and chocolate. I just finished off a batch chocolate and it isn't bad even with water. I think if I mix it with my soy milk it will make a very good treat.

What kind of protein mixes have you found that you like? What is their protein/calorie count? How about price?

Sorry, missed it.

I use Nutrabio, found them on ebay, and liked the product. After researching what is in theirs and what they offer, they are all I use.

The cappacino is awesome.

Those are both higher in protein and lower in calories than the ones I was looking at. Hmm...

I like Genisoy soy protein the best. When mixed w/ water its 130 cal. and 15 protein. I usually mix it w/ soy milk though and a banana, couple egg whites, maybe a yolk and whatever else I have that looks good.:jiggy:

If I want eggs, I will cook them :) Never understood the raw egg thing......are you really in that much of a hurry? Or is it just a leftover from watching Rocky too much as a kid :)

Anyone have knowledge regarding soy versus whey protein? I bought the whey powder and mix it with soy milk or water. Mixed with water it's 100 calories and 17g of protein. Mixed with the soy milk it's 200 calories and 23g of protein. And while I think it tastes better with the milk it is definitely okay in just water too. I am tempted to try a half water half milk mix to see how that goes.

I dont drink anything with water, cant do it. I need it to be more llike a shake or it is nasty to me.

water makes it too thin for me. If I want to thin it all or just cool it off I'll throw in a handful of ice before blending.

Tip: put the lid on first before blending with ice... I found that out the hard way. I was used to single serving shakes not needing a lid... then I threw some ice in it and hit the button... I was cleaning it off the kitchen cabinets and floors for the next 10 minutes.
