yeah, beer bug got me tonight... but I burned off more calories at the gym today then I took in on beer, and my only meal so far has been a protein shake and a short stack of lite bbq pringles. Cooking up some venison right now :)

Timberwolf

10.5lbs... officially into the double digits! :)

EDIT: and down a full waist size in pants lol

Timberwolf
12-19-2008, 01:03 PM
today could have been my break into the 19x range... but my guess is I stored too much beer and jager missiles from last night.

Scale said 200.5, and my head was in too much of a cloud this morning to bother trying to push over the edge with an extended bathroom break lol

nacf
12-19-2008, 09:35 PM
wonder if all the drinking will show up on the scale tomorrow. that is what happened last time:) hopefully not though!

You have to have both feet on the scale for it to work right.

Congrats Mikey!

Timberwolf

23% of the way to my goal! I gave myself 4 months, so I am a little ahead of schedule... I have til Jan 1st for that next 2% to have me right on track. Considering that's only another pound though...

I could drop a pound just by heading to the bathroom

Speaking of that, brb.

stuck at 199.5, but I ate a lot yesterday at a christmas gathering. mostly 'clean' food (cold cut sandwich) but I had two helpings of my mom's killer baked beans, 3 or 4 deviled eggs and some shrimp, and maybe a few chocolate covered pretzels :)

As of today, I am still 1 week ahead of schedule. Updated my weight goal graph in the first post.

Becca_007
12-22-2008, 10:09 AM
You are flying through the pounds though. You've lost as much in 3 weeks as it's taken me 7. Congrats! Think I'll steal your idea about updating the first post in the thread too. Maybe I'll do that on a monthly basis though.

Timberwolf
12-23-2008, 01:19 PM
damn body made me work for that next pound! 3 days for that one

Timberwolf
12-26-2008, 10:09 AM
Ate like I hadn't in a long time this last two days... only put a pound back on, so not too bad. going to the gym in a few minutes and back on track.

Timberwolf
12-29-2008, 12:46 PM
ok, after a week of being less than strict on the holiday food and drinks, I am only down half a pound. Still puts me on track for my goal though... I am 13.5lbs down in 4 weeks, and just over 26% of my way to the goal.

updated the original post and graph. notice the long holiday flatline? lol

Timberwolf

this is a reminder to myself... post starting and current pic in the morning.

Timberwolf
12-30-2008, 01:19 PM
well, here's the pics. to be honest, I forgot to take a starter pic this year, but the one shown is from when I weighed exactly the same as my starting weight this year...it was just taken Jan 1 2006.

I'm a little disappointed... I'm down 15lbs. I don't see it.

didn't lose any, didn't gain any this week. when will all this holiday partying and eating end? :)

Haha. Way to maintain in the face of so much temptation.

Timberwolf
01-12-2009, 09:45 AM
down 4.5lbs this past week... Only got to the gym twice though. Gotta do better at this week

That puts me half a pound from the 20lb marker... and 2 pounds away from no longer showing as 'obese' on the bmi charts... I'll simply be overweight

Becca_007
01-12-2009, 09:58 AM
I remember how awesome it was to get past that obese stage and into the overweight category :). You are so close and losing at a very high rate. Congrats!

Timberwolf
01-14-2009, 10:08 AM
As of today, I am no longer 'obese' according to the BMI calculator! Into the 'overweight' category finally LOL

21lbs down kiddos!

I miss Cherry Coke Zero as well as Rockstar :).

After hitting a low of 188 last week, I settled in closer to 190.

Still progress though.

I feel a lot better though... I noticed otday doing the same work on the treadmill, my heart rate is about 30bpm lower than it was when I started...

Timberwolf
01-26-2009, 10:09 AM
hit 188 again, then shot back up to 191, then settled back down there again. Scale has been fighting me this week.

But I can blame that on using our chili's gift cards from christmas, my son's birthday party where we had brownies (my weakness) instead of cake, and two dinner's worth of heather's killer chili :)

Plus, I bought a pig a little over a week ago, and one night this week I indulged us all on some inch thick pork chops, garlic mashed potatos and buttery corn :)

Time to get serious... I am right where i should be, but I have been ahead of schedule most of the time until now. I need to be at 186 by Feb 1st to still be on track for my goal. That means at least 2 pounds this week.

Timberwolf
01-29-2009, 10:53 AM
Decided to change up my workout a bit last night. Went back to the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu class I used to attend.

I worked harder in the first 20 minutes of 'warmups' then I usually do in my entire 60-90 minutes at the gym.

THEN, we actually started training, followed by 4, 5 minute rounds of free grappling.

I am sore, bruised, and I may have injured a rib. Talk about using muscles you're not used to...

If you want to try something different, I highly recommend it!

I hope to give this one a try on Friday:

BODYCOMBAT®. This fiercely energetic cardio workout draws from Karate, Boxing, Muay Thai and Tae Kwon Do. Unleash your Inner Warrior in this powerful class. 1 hour.

Timberwolf
02-02-2009, 11:18 AM
Well, after bruising a rib last week I hadn't been to the gym or done any kind of workout really until today. Heck, I was barely able to sleep or breathe.

Still, I managed to drop a couple more, putting me at 185.5

That's 27lbs total lost, and a little over halfway to my goal, with today being the halfway point on the calendar. So I am slightly ahead of schedule.

Timberwolf
02-09-2009, 09:25 AM
my ribs are feeling a little better finally, but they really restricting my activity ans screwing up my sleep patterns. I made it to the gym this weekend, but that was about it. Haven't been as restrictive on the food. Mainly having some tasty dinners.

Results: +/- 0.0 for the week,

I am officially behind schedule.

I still think what everyone has accomplished so far is wonderful. Injuries suck.

Timberwolf
02-16-2009, 11:57 AM
I'm up one pound. which REALLY puts me further behind schedule. I expected worse though, considering the pizza, olive garden, travelling food (read as fast food), etc this week.

I really need to get motivated and stay on track.

Timberwolf
02-23-2009, 09:37 AM
184 today. scale finally moved the right direction...

congrats-considering the lack of gym time this week and the late night pizza yesterday...I am impressed:)

Timberwolf
03-02-2009, 08:24 AM
After a weekend of copious amounts of mountain dew and other forms of caffiene, donuts, fast food, and general inactivity, I am actually at the lowest I have been since we started this...

183, and I haven't even been to the bathroom yet lol

Becca_007
03-02-2009, 09:48 AM
Must be all the grease which you aren't used to paved the way for everything to pass right through. Lol! Nice job.

Timberwolf
03-02-2009, 10:40 AM
I should clarify, I drove to Atlanta, GA and back pulling a u-haul. We also unloaded it into a 3rd floor storage unit, dropped our friend off, and got back on the road to Michigan. Oh and we got held up 3 hours in Indy with a mysteriously missing tire on the trailer.

We did all this in 30 hours total, and that started AFTER I had been awake for 20 hours....

I ate at my first "Jack in the Box," as well as having McDonald's, lots of gas station and rest area snacks, a couple of cans of rockstar, and some little dive diner food.

we laid down for a 2 hour nap yesterday at 4:30pm and didn't wake up until 7 this morning...

I actually ran the other day. Not a big deal to most human beings, but to me, a definite NON runner, it is.

only did a mile and a half, in half mile intervals with quarter mile walks in between... but they were at a mph pace and still more than I have ran in a decade at least.

even back in middle school and high school I couldn't run long. breathing and calf problems always stopped me.

It was kinda nice actually... :)

Becca_007
03-10-2009, 01:01 PM
Sweet. What paces were you using?

Timberwolf
03-10-2009, 01:31 PM
Sweet. What paces were you using?

The runs were 6mph. The in-between walks were 4mph.

My last run was on the indoor track rather than the treadmill. It was kinda weird, I think towards the end of that run I was going a bit faster... I could feel my body taking over even though my head was telling me to stop.

Becca_007
03-10-2009, 02:24 PM
Nice. I think 5.8 is the highest I got and I couldn't last there for long. I'd think right around 5 is the best pace for me. I don't remember what I was up to before changing to the programs but I know I was doing at least 4.5. That all seems so long ago now :(.

Timberwolf
03-10-2009, 02:43 PM
it's weird... even being short paces other people are jogging at feel like a walk to me. 4.8 to 5mph is about the crossover from a fast walk to a slow jog for me. 5.5mph is about my jogging pace, where 6.0 crosses into a mild run

Timberwolf
07-06-2009, 12:07 PM
ok, lets give this another try... after months of eating anything I could get my hands on again, I have jumped back up 15lbs :(

time to hit the reset button... I hate feeling like this again. Hard to believe I was 11-12 pounds heavier than I am now, back when I started this thing originally.

I've been trying to find the motivation to get myself going again too. My guess is the real push won't come until Fall again for me. There are just too many things to do with the nicer weather and less time to prepare or plan meals.

I call bullshit.
The nicer weather opens up too many opportunitys to play outside.
Ask me to throw some motivation at you.
I'm in full kill coach mode. Ask me.

Well, I will help by not buying junk...but you have to cook healthier. I am sure you will lose that 15 faster than I can lose the 5 I put back on. :(

Timberwolf
12-07-2010, 10:44 AM
so almost two years to the day since the first time I did this, I started again (Nov 29th this time). What a coincidence. Only this time I wasn't 211 as a starting weight. I was 217! Keep in mind I'm barely scratching 5'7" tall.

Now, 8 days later I'm down about 9lbs. Hoping to hit 160 by boating season :)

nacf
12-07-2010, 01:35 PM
I think 160 is too small for you. I do not wish to share clothing with you.lol However, I would love to hit my goal weight by boat season as well:)

Best of luck. It's way too easy to get out of the habits of eating better and being active.
