cranberries don't blend to oblivion like bananas do...
I made a whey protein shake and I typically throw a banana in there for flavor. Thought I'd mix it up a bit so I bought some blueberries and cranberries at the store yesterday as well.
tried the cranberries today... all was well til I got down toward the bottom of the glass and got a healthy gulp of cranberry skin chunks :barf:
a scoop of instant coffee in the vanilla or chocolate shakes adds a nice kick
Also the use of chocolate or vanilla soy milk add a nice flavor chnage too.
And the occasional tablespoon or two of yogurt will change it up too
I buy alot of frozen fruit for mine. 5 or 6 cherries in a shake is awesome, and they also work good in vanilla yogurt. By the time you eat the yogurt, they have mixed just like Dannon fruit on the bottom, but better.

do you use the soy milk in place of the skim? I might have to try that.
Yes, only person in my household who uses regular milk is Kristen, and she is getting away from it too. She LOVES the chocolate soy milk. Plus with her being lactose intolerant, it was a nice switch that I didnt have to force on her. Meijer is even making a version that is cheaper then the Silk brand I usually use. And they make a light version of both flavors too.

I also am lactose intollerant so I get chocolate soy protein and blend it with soy milk and a banana etc. The meijer organic soy here also. Yummy!

I would rather have a mouthful of cranberry pulp than come near anything banana!

yeah, I can't eat a banana... can't stand the texture. makes me sick. but I don't mind the banana flavor. I can even eat banana chips...because they have something behind them...some crunch.
The only way you'll get me to eat an actual banana is blended to oblivion in a shake so there's no chewing in involved

I cant even stand the smell of 'em and I hate that marketing thinks strawberry/banana is a good thing.
Love the taste, hate the texture
I thought I was the only one like that, funny

In fact, I think I'd rather chew a potassium pill than eat/drink banana!

I'll have to check Meijer.. Felpausch only had lite in the regular flavor, not chocolate. Going to mix up a chocolate protein shake momentarily.

I bought Vanilla Silk a month or so ago. I haven't drank it straight but I never drank milk either. I love it on my cereal though. I haven't cooked with it because Mark isn't ready to try it. He likes his 2%.

Chocolate was fine, a little thicker than my skim I am used to. Might have been better if it were colder, but I couldn't find the lid to the blender and I know what happened last time I added ice without the lid on! Blueberry flavored shake all over me, the counter and the floor!
