First time on the lake after the boat has sat for 7 years. Took me the whole week to clean it up and get the engine running smoothly. Ran decent at the lake but I think it has the wrong prop on it. Unfortunatly my tachometer doesn't work well so I'm unsure if it was accurate. Said it was idling at 600 RPM which is where it's supposed to be, and at WOT after the boat has topped out it said it was turning 3800 RPM. It's supposed to run at 4500 at WOT, if the tach is right then this completely explains why the boat is such a dog from a dead dig. Also the engine was spark knocking pretty bad, I'm sure it's from the 7 year old gas (though I did mix in some 110 race fuel, but it was old too and wasn't very much). I think fresh fuel will cure all the engine troubles.

Anyway, here's a coupe pics, the first one's are how the hull looked before I used the Vertglas to restore it, the last pics are what it looked like after 5 coats of the color restore/protectant. It still needs 3 more coats to be right according to the directions.

Took me 2 days, probably about 12 hours worth of work to get it that good.

Had the boat out again today. Put some Ultra 94 in and the spark knock went away. I know it didn't have too much timing, just had old fuel. Note to self, tighten engine belt, that noise is annoying.
