Grand Haven Sunday

Gonna be at Grand Haven on Sunday. Should be in the water before 11am, and I gotta pull out at around 4pm. Probably do some tubing on Spring Lake. And if the big lake is calm, I might actually try to find Rosy Mounds.

No name on the boat yet, so just a big white blob.....but look for the boy scout colors on the sun deck, and give a shout.

i'll be out to gh sunday but not until 3 or 4p. last grad party of the summer today, and family stuff tomorrow. i guess i'll see you on the highway lol. if the lake is claim take a little ride to port shelden only 5 miles s of gh. nice beach to pull up on. just stay on the north side beach. looks like the water temp dropped but with today 80 degrees hopfuly it will come up a bit. have fun i'll watch for you.

private on the south side. and the guy with the tug boat well let you know that. it's great down there the water from lake mi goes in, not out so it's a real nice blue. and the beach is sandy, the reg's that go there are real nice. sheri and i will normaly run up to muskegon for lunch then back down to port shelden for a couple of hour of louge time.

Cool, I will check it out tomorrow. Looks like I might be in the water longer. My son is sick and not coming down this weekend. So I have no reason to run off. I will look for you if I stay longer.

sorry to hear he is sick but that would be great. i have a couple of things to change quick when i get there (that i was going to do 2 weeks ago). then i well be out mainly running around the pier head i have a few adjustments to do.

I am tinkering with mine in the driveway today actually. Finally mounting the seats, and changing out the water seperater filter. Gave all the zerts a good dose of grease, and checked the trailer out from top to bottom. I should be ready to go. I might even try to put the woofer and amp in the cuddy, but that depends on how motivated I am :D

I think I'm going to do the gel coat restoration on my boat today depending on the weather.

Q, Got your email around 8:30pm after I got out of work. Did you drop in Murray for the day?

Yeah, put in on the wrong side. No dock :( But had a nice day on the lake. I wanted to go to Grand Haven, but the storms kept coming in, so I figured this was safer. Plus now I know in a pinch if I wanted a local lake, I can use Murray.

The point is shallow, which I didnt like, and I felt like "That Guy" out there. I was the biggest and loudest boat on the water. Everytime I fired it up everyone on shore looked at me, and when I was ripping it on plane down the lake, all eyes were on me. Guess I am not use to that. But as long as nobody is thorwing things or chasing me down I am ok.

The water was nice and warm, thats for sure. But tubing on it would be a bit tight at times for me.

yeah the point has a shallow spot, "the sunken island", which is a great place to park but not when it gets busy. I figured you might feel a little out of place but I bet Sam's jetboat is louder...open header 468ci. Sundays we usually yacht club it in front of my house (aka "the cove") because its too busy.

I think I seen that jet boat right across from the ski course. Amie and I were commenting on how quick that little shit would be.

I wasnt so much worried about being fast, as I was loud. I guarandamntee you that when I went on plane, both sides knew it :lol:

Let me know the next time you guys plan on having a big raft up, I will come out for that. Its nice to have a lake close enough that I wont go broke getting there finally. Still isnt big enough to make me happy, but I can live with it ;) Now I just have to fix the bearing I roached on the way home again before the 4th. I WILL be in Grand Haven on the 4th for sure.

So where is your place exactly?

my place is on the north end of the cove which is on the west side of the lake. Here is a photo, our back yard faces southeast...kinda towards the launch that has the dock. that is our lift sitting on shore, jetskis are hidden.

Didnt flip any that I seen, but I didnt exactly stick around to see if they liked the wake or not ;)

Did see a guy pull a nice Muskie out by fishing off the shadow of my hull when I was anchored. I didnt even get a thank you for the shade :nono:

Dont recogonize the place by the picture Mike, but I know the area now at least. That is the side I will put in on next time too. The other side worked, but I like a dock when possible.

I wish, today is fix the damn trailer day. repacking all four wheels. Got a bunch of other things I have to do before I leave on vacation next week.

Lifted the trailer with a jack and the tire fell the fuck off :banghead:

Bearing smoked the hub and wiped out the axle stub. Off to Richfield Trailer on Monday to get the stub, and down the road to South Kent Alignment to have it cut off and welded on. All on three legs with the bad side strapped to the trailer itself to keep it off the ground. Woo Hoo, this should be a fun Monday morning from my place to 76th street.

But I WILL be there for the 4th, and I am doing the other bearings already, so she will be there.

that sucks q. that happened to me last summer heading up to charlevoix for a poker run. was that you in grand haven today or is there two white 24er's around? i saw you were hooked up when we drove by your house. will you be out on the 5th also or just the 4th. we have a family pool party here on the 4th.

Nope, wasnt me, I never got out of the driveway.

I will be there the 4th for sure, and the 5th is still up in the air. But probably both days if I have my way. 4th with the family, 5th with maybe my son, or solo maybe bring a friend.
