What kind of oil??

In my R6 I need ot know what is the best oil to use?? I am getting ready to do an oil change, and I have no idea what is "best." I have heard Amsoil 10w40, or Yamalube (don't know the weight), what do you guys recommend?

I use mobil 1 synthetic 20w-50 IIRC

I have heard good things about that oil, and Amsoil 10w40....my friend lives by Mobil1 MX4T....but I am still undecided :uhoh:

yamalube is pretty low on the ratings tests.

there is a pretty good article online somwhere, just google motorcycle oil tests.

I have run the mobile 20-50 too, although it doesn't technically meet yamaha's weight req's. It does work fine.

its about the same as the mx4t, but cheaper from walmart due to the 5qt package's. just double check that its not energy conserving on the back. it used to be red top; now I think its a gold cap.
