I just bought a new bike. It is a 2003 Yamaha R6 Limited Edition Black/Red Flames.
It has just over 4800 miles, and is in PERFECT shape. I promised you guys pics, now here they are:

Not too bad of a price.

Only thing I see is that bike was definitely NOT used for it's intended purposes - corner carving.

Look at those Chicken Stripes on the wheels. :run: Also seems like the rear tire is flat in the middle, like they did burn-outs.

Have fun, be safe and remember to wear as much gear as you own every time you get on it. If you need any more gear, I also have Teknic leather perforated pants, Teknic leather gloves, and a blue R6 cover. PM me if you're interested.

Yeah I did notice the chicken strips as well...that's why I am in the market for a new set of tires, I just don't know which ones to buy! If you have any recommendations, please help me!

Also, if you could send pics of the r6 cover that would be cool!

if the frt tire is still in pretty decent shape, just get another oem rear. it should still be, I usually need to change 2 rears for 1 frt. and at the current mileage, it would have been in need of replacement whether they did a burnout anyway. IE. I get a new rear about 4-4500 miles, then a new frt and rear at around double that. I do NO burnouts.

as for the next set, Ive been really happy with the pirelli diablo's on my R1. and on an R6, you should read up on the R6 message forum's about changing the frt size when you do both tire's. a lot of guys go to the 70 series front for a less abrupt transition from upright to higher lean angles. but that can be personal prefrence, so do your homework.

:stupid:

That is actually pretty good advice. One of the best forums on the R6 is http://www.r6messagenet.com/forums. You can find a wealth of info out there. When I changed my front, I did the change to a 70 series for the exact reason as Rod mentioned. I did that between my second and third track days at Grattan and it made a huge difference. I highly recommend that to anyone. I'll have a look to see if I have any pictures of the cover, but if not, check out http://www.yamaha-motor.com and it should be on there.

another vote for the pirelli's. I have them on my bike (they came stock) and at 4100 miles they still look great. They stick real nice too.

What's up with the tach? That can't be real.... redline at 15,500 RPM is that right?
Nice bike

Maybe in a few weeks, I am still waiting to get a new back tire, and possibly some power mods...

out of curiosity...so your car runs 13.401 here on michigan speed, but when you go to the bike site it's over a second faster?

http://wmriders.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1849

I love everything about it. I haven't had it on the road much, but it is definitely different from my 1981 Honda that I had before. It is much faster than I thought it would be. I have a low 12 second Trans Am, and this thing blows it's doors off!
