Hello All,
I have been tasked with drumming up membership and vendor support. I am disappointed with my results so far but am extremely hopeful.
I have worked out a standing discount with Star Collision that DJCobol should be posting details about. This applies for all 'Supporting Members' who have paid dues.
I have a promise from Sean at Cars for a standing discount amounting to about 17% on all hourly work done for 'Supporting members'. We just need to work out a couple of small details to get him on board. I know he has been very busy with our special project of late.
I have been talking to a local (G.R.) shop that has a dyno. I am hoping they will sponsor the club but at the least we will have a dyno day some Saturday that will feature reduced rates for 'Supporting members'.
I know we have several groups within the club who prefer the different venues. We have a solid showing every year at the "M" event up at Mid-Michigan Motorplex in October each year. I believe we have won the club attendance award every year Michigan Speed has been in existence.
We have good attendance at several of the local car shows. I have my racecar working its way to show quality and plans for my newer Z28. We have a new bike forum that has generated interest. I have my cycle endorsement and would be glad to take a spin on anything you have.
We have the PINKS filming coming up in August and we have not had the response to the special PINKS/Michigan Speed bowling shirt I had hoped for. Many of our members have worked on this car. Several have gone above and beyond the call of duty. It would be nice for those who cannot attend the filming or work on the car to contribute by buying a shirt today. I'd like to see at least another half dozen that need to be ordered today and paid for immediately. I'd also like to see about twenty new 'Supporting members'. I see a lot of positive things for Michigan Speed if we can just drum up a little more interaction between members and a little more use of our 'Supporting Vendors' in the months ahead.
