Found one of my R6 on my computer, so I uploaded it.

Oh and Kevin, let me know when you go to Grattan. My family has a house just down the street on Woodland Park, its the first drive on the left (has a pole barn the same property)

Mike,

Havent' been to Grattan since that particular track day. Sold my R6 shortly after that. I got soo hooked on doing track days that I wanted to start racing. Wife said no.

After spending so much time on the track and having such a good time in a controlled environment, riding on the street just wasn't the same.

Still wish I had a bike :tears: , but someday again.

I know this isn't a "bike" like you're used to, but it's all I have: a 2004 S&M L.A.F. Custom built from the ground up. It's one of the strongest, lightest, and best performing BMX bikes ever. 25 lbs. even with titanium spokes, pegs, axles, axle nuts, and crank spindle. Retails as built for over $2400. I've been riding BMX for 18 years now and have no intention of quitting. Hopefully this sort of fits in, even though it's not motorized :D

That's cool Patrick, I used to do that as well. I raced quite a bit in my younger days. For some reason I was a natural. My first race ever I took third, after that I never took less than second place, and a majority of the time I won. I moved from novice to expert class in my first season.
Also played quite a bit with the freestyle game. I still have a shirt signed by some of the big names from WAY back when they came to Grand Blanc. Ron Wilkerson, Eddie Fiola, etc.
I bet if I looked, I could still find a copy of the movie "RAD" in a box in my parents basement lol

If you can believe it, Ron Wilkerson still rides and owns his own BMX company. If you get a chance, go buy a copy of "Joe kid on a stingray". If you've ever rode BMX or had any sort of love for it, it is a must see movie. Jesse James narrates it and it's a really well produced documentary. I have a copy and a dvd burner on my computer... never used it though. I'll give it a try and send you a copy if I can figure it out.

Yeah, I've heard of it, but haven't seen it. I found a site a month or so ago that was sort of a "where are they now" type of thing for all the guys in the old days (80s) of freestyling and BMX.

BTW, I used to live in Big Rapids too. Ferris alum. Lived in Reed City while going there too

Might be picking up an older Kaw. Not sure exactly what model, but it's a 750, 4 cylinder. The guy says it needs coils packs. It's a friend, and he's moving to AZ and just needs it gone. He was supposed to bring me the title and pick up the money yesterday and didn't show. But if he comes around Monday or whatever, I'll have a new pic to post. In the meantime, I guess I'll add my bike to this thread for those who haven't seen it previously.

you can check them all out here: http://www.zzr600.net/images/daytona/

Had a KZ500 brand new in 71. It scared the heck out of me so I sold it. It was kind of like riding a horse with a stick of dynamite up its ass. Nice and docile until the dynamite went off and then it got crazy instantly. No warning at all.

Here's a better view of the bike, in 490cc form. I wish I'd seen this ad before it was sold or it would have been mine!
