Apparently some canadians think it's not a problem...

I did the same on my YZ 80's, you wouldn't believe the traction in late fall across the fields. I was roosting 25 feet high (back tire was 8-9" down) and hauling ass across a farmers field. Soft turf mixed with high revs and a farmer who needs his field torn up = priceless

thats retarded. be wayyyy too many people not expecting to see a bike on the road (it can be bad enough in the summer months), and I still bet you have a lot less manuverability than on warm dry pavement. so the chances of getting taken out are a lot higher.

MMMmm, I've did it once, in 1995 I think. Hadn't thought to try dirt bike tires though. Studded dirt bike tires are probably not very safe on cold concrete, Just like you say Rod. I wonder if that guy (or is bike) survived the winter of '05/'06?
Motorcycles in winter are pretty cool, IMHO. I got lots of looks that winter. No one is looking out for motorcycles unless they have one at home so I didnt see much difference.

I used to ride an RM250 in the winter around the woods behind my house. What made it even more fun was that the thing only had front brakes... so every time I went to slow down the front tire wanted to slide out on me lol
