Well, here it is. Our rushed attempt at a car club for the "rest" of Michigan. We have gone too long without some type of orgainization in the rest of Michigan. The East side guys seem to have all the fun  This is a total work in progress, opinions and ideas are welcome from anyone and everyone. Not saying we will listen to them all, but they are welcome. In the next few months we will be estabilishing a group of club members to serve as representives for the entire club. If I have my way ALL things will be put to a vote where majority wins. We are charging NO dues, as we have very little to offer as a club at the moment. That is not to say that somewhere down the line that dues wont be required. All monies incoming to the club will be handled by our treasurer and allocated for club activities. That is where you the club members come in. We need people to help orgainze the events as well as come up with ideas of things to do. Feel free to use this entire message board for those things. We are also working on a constitution for the club. Once it is done, members will have a oppurtunity to comment on it and help form it to work for us as a club. Kinda like the founding fathers of this country did many years ago. This is a club of car lovers, and as such ALL BRAND AND MODELS of cars and their owners are welcome. But we are based around perfomance and fun. If you live in Michigan you are welcome. If you live close to Michigan and want in, we MAY consider you  This is for the residents of this state we call home that harrasses us with terrible weather all year long, thus making our hobby diffucult at times :thumbd: One word of warning, there are no language filters in use. If you are offended by this, I am sorry, but I see no reason to restrict the way people talk. And as most of you know, I have been known to use a few colorful words from time to time :meek: Please try to use moderation on your colorful language. If I have to I will institute filters. So on that note, have fun, post alot, and check out our web store. We have some very cool shirts and such which help support the board. Remember, server space and events arent free. Welcome everyone, to Michigan Speed.

Some days I think I'd like to have a car to play with again. Do some cruising events like we used to do.

I'm the same way Mike. I miss all the fun we use to have as a group with those cars. But i also do not miss laying on the floor of the garage either.

Once I find a job that pays well and I figure out I am ready to buy a house again, I would like to find a jet boat to rebuild in the garage. Something like a 19 to 21 footer with a big block. Start from scratch and redo it bottom up. The other thought is a old Chris Craft woodie would be fun. Otherwise, I still want a rat rod, just something stupid over the top.

Unless you like scratching, stay away from boats. 1) They are a bigger financil drain than any car. 2) If you have to do any wood/fiberglass work, that will be worse than laying on your back in a garage. Trust me, I helped a friend rebuild one of each.

Get a nice cruiser. Either a late model ride or a vintage car like Pete's Nova.

Yeah, i have done them in the past Tom. Just really like a jet boat, and would love to do one. I have already redone a big water boat in the Liberator, something stupid fast would be fun next.

I have a cruiser in the Hog already.

Boats aren't as bad as everyont makes them out to be. The only thing truly expensive is an outboard motor and it's repairs, and the outdrive of inboards.

Nothing else is any more complicated/costly than working on cars
